Shiksha Diya Project

PDKF’s Shiksha Diya Project focuses on supporting education for disadvantaged girls, improving gender disparity and female literacy in Rajasthan. This Project targets students of 8th to12th grades in Government schools in the old city of Jaipur. The Foundation aims to provide financial, academic and material support, along with community awareness and health initiatives. The aim is to highlight the importance of educating the girl child and decreasing the school drop out rate.

Scholarships and Material Support

In the first phase of Shiksha Diya Project, 150 girl students were provided with financial and material support in the form of scholarships (school fee), schoolbags, notebooks and other stationery items, on the basis of their previous academic performance, annual family income and child with a single parent.

Academic Support

Shiksha Diya provides tuition classes for Mathematics and Science and Spoken English in collaboration with selected academic partners.

Digital Literacy

Shiksha Diya also has a component of Digital literacy with an aim to teach the basics of computer to make girls employment ready. PDKF has partnered with Compeq Classes to provide digital literacy to the students under this project.

The Health & Hygiene

Shiksha Diya conducts campaigns in schools to enhance the girl’s knowledge towards the importance of personal health and menstrual hygiene. This also focuses on providing them access to sanitary napkins.

Community Awareness

Shiksha Diya understands the need of involving community and society to educate and empower the female population. Shiksha Diya provides counselling sessions for parents to make them understand the importance of educating their daughters.
