Project Pragati

Project Pragati is an initiative to economically empower underprivileged women of Rajasthan by skill building in heritage crafts. PDKF in collaboration with Miss World Asia 2019, Suman Ratan Rao (as part of her Beauty With A Purpose Project for the Miss World pageant) has initiated two centres - Aidana and Deogarh in Rajsamand, Rajasthan.

Skill Building and Training

Under Project Pragati, over 100 women were trained in stitching, embroidery and various heritage crafts in the village of Aidana and Deogarh. PDKF has broken the barriers by paving way for the women of these villages, to go out of their houses and work.

Sustainable livelihoods

Majority of women in the area did not have a regular source of income and their husbands were seasonal labourers. PDKF provided them with a safe platform to earn for themselves and support their families.

Women’s Empowerment

Project Pragati with its livelihood programs, economically empowered the women and improved their status in their families and communities.The women are now financially independant and major contributors to their household income.
